Week Six: MBKM Program for Students of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business, UIN SATU at BPR Syariah Lantabur Tebuireng

8 November 2024-In the sixth week, Internship students at BPR Syariah Lantabur Tebuireng Jombang are focused on deepening the material they have learned during lectures in the previous semester. The aim of this activity is to apply the theory that has been understood in a real context in the world of work. Intern students are asked to present the various types of banking they have learned, including sharia banking, conventional, and the various products and services offered by each type of banking. This presentation has a format similar to that usually done in lectures, namely consisting of the opening session, delivery of material in detail, as well as a closing session followed by a question and answer session. Presentations made by intern students are not only aimed at testing their understanding, but also as a means to practice public speaking skills and convey information in a clear and structured manner. During the presentation session, students can demonstrate their understanding of various banking concepts, including sharia products offered by BPR Syariah Lantabur Tebuireng. Besides that, they can also explain the differences and similarities between Islamic banking and conventional banking, as well as the social and economic impacts of each type of banking.

After presentation, The discussion session continued with input and additional material from Mr. Zahid, as the marketing leader who replaced Ibu Qibti, tutor lecturer who is absent. Mr. Zahid provided many new insights about product development and marketing strategies implemented at BPR Syariah Lantabur Tebuireng, which is an important part of daily banking activities. During this session, Students received a lot of useful input, such as a deeper understanding of market needs, customer segmentation, as well as effective ways of communicating products to potential customers. Besides that, Students are also given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss topics related to banking material, both related to operational aspects, marketing strategy, as well as sharia principles applied in banks. The input obtained is very valuable, because students can directly hear practical experiences from a professional in the banking industry. This certainly enriches their knowledge and perspective about the world of sharia banking, and deepen their understanding of how the theories learned in lectures are applied in the field.

On weekends, Intern students also followed the evaluation session led by Ibu Qibti. This session aims to provide space for students to convey their complaints and experiences during their more than one month internship at BPR Syariah Lantabur Tebuireng. In this forum, Students are given the opportunity to share the challenges or obstacles they face, both in terms of the tasks given and in the process of adapting to the work environment. Besides that, This evaluation session is also a forum for finding solutions to existing problems so that students can maximize their remaining internship time. The outcome of this session is a shared understanding of how to improve the internship experience and ensure that students can learn more during their remaining time at the institution.
